Privacy Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

This policy explains what Nest & Cents collects, why, and how you can get it removed. It applies to this website and to the emails we send.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you subscribe to get a printable, we collect the first name and email address you enter. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message.

Information collected automatically. We use analytics to understand which pages people read. This may include your approximate location (city level), device type, browser, referring page, and the pages you viewed. We do not attempt to identify individual readers from this data.

Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are used for analytics, for remembering form state, and — if display ads are running — for ad delivery and measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Why we collect it

  • To send the printable you asked for and the emails you opted into
  • To see which articles help people and which do not
  • To measure whether affiliate links and ads work
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with advertisers.

Who processes it for us

ServicePurposeData involved
MailerLiteEmail delivery and subscriber listName, email, engagement data
Google Analytics 4Traffic measurementCookie identifiers, page views, approximate location
CloudflareHosting, CDN, securityIP address, request logs
Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, Skimlinks, Sovrn, CJ, Awin, Impact, Rakuten)Tracking referralsClick identifiers, cookie set on their domain

Each of these companies processes data under its own privacy policy. When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and the destination company’s policy applies.

How long we keep it

Subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Analytics data is retained for the period configured in Google Analytics, currently 14 months. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short security window.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU/UK and the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Correct it
  • Delete it
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent for email at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these, email hello@nestandcents.com with the subject line “Data request”. [TO CONFIRM] this address becomes live with the domain. We respond within 30 days.

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing removes you from the list; it does not delete analytics records, which are not linked to your email address.

Children

This site is written for adults managing a household budget. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard offered by the provider.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. Material changes are also announced in the email newsletter.
